Take advantage of the many PSW opportunities available in the Health Care industry by enrolling in Westervelt’s full-time Personal Support Worker program in Brantford, Kitchener, and London, Ontario. Our training programs are designed to help you be career ready in months and learn the skills healthcare employers need.
At Westervelt, you will be fully prepared to care, provide support services, assist in activities of daily living and enhance the lives of clients families, the elderly, those in need of specialized care and individuals with physical limitations. Train in our fully equipped classrooms and have the opportunity to learn in an environment that is similar to how it will be in the workplace. Hands-on PSW training will help you transition easily to your new career. At the end of the PSW program, a Facility-Based Practicum, will allow you to practice what you’ve learned in the classroom setting in a real work environment.
Upon graduation, Personal Support Workers (PSWs) can find employment working in long term care facilities, hospitals, private companies, and more.

Curriculum
The purpose of the Externship – Practicum is to allow students to continue to practice their skills in an actual work-like setting. They will learn first-hand how to deal with real-life situations and gain experience within the field. By training within the clinical setting, students will gain an understanding of how to react or act proactively within different situations. They will gain knowledge and practical experience to help develop their understanding of employer expectations. This course allows students to be involved in the educational process with a medical team. The practicum is to be completed in clinical settings, public laboratories, and private laboratories outside of the school.
