Production is the physical creation of the materials to be edited together in post production. Students will experience key roles necessary for effective production, learn processes and understand industry terms. This course introduces the entire production flow. There are three main areas covered. Producing: an introduction to the role of the producer. Choosing an idea and the process of getting it done. Directing: an introduction to the role of director. Working with an idea, on camera talent, and crew to tell a story. Cinematography: telling stories visually with the camera, breaking events/scenes into discrete editable components, composition, camera location and position. Capturing audio on location is introduced. Throughout the production course students will learn the various aspects of telling stories with technology.
