As a Westervelt student, you’ll have access to all the financial assistance you require, including the Canada
Student Loan Program, the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) or other government programs, such as
Employment Insurance.
You may also be able to take advantage of a long-term, interest-free payment plan, depending on your financial
circumstances.
Your tuition costs are tax deductible in accordance with the federal tax regulations.
You will also receive a “Book Tax Credit” and “Living Expense Tax Credit” for each month you are in full-time studies.
The calculation is as follows:
- Tuition Tax Credit - 100%
- Living Expenses Tax Credit - $400 for each month you are in school
- ie. 12-month program = 12 x $400 equalling a tax credit of $4800
- Book Tax Credit - $65 for each month you are in school
- ie. 12-month program = 12 x $65 equalling a tax credit for $780
- Transportation Tax Credit – Students purchasing monthly bus passes from the LTC may use their receipts towards
the transportation tax credit.
