Medical Laboratory Assistant Technician

With a new facility and instructors who bring years of experience to our
program, Westervelt gives you the hands-on instruction you need to quickly
succeed as a Medical Laboratory Assistant Technician.
You’ll receive theoretical and practical training from Medical Laboratory
Assistant Technicians and Medical Laboratory Technologists who bring their years
of expertise to each component of this program. With the advantage of our new
Medical Lab, you’ll gain hands-on experience using modern lab equipment in a
setting that fully prepares you for a career in Research, Hospital, Private,
Environmental and Industrial Labs.
You’ll also benefit from clinical placements that will add to your skill,
confidence and experience and fully prepare you for your future. From here,
you’ll be eligible to write your certification exam through the
Ontario Society of Medical Technologists.

Wage Range
$24,000 - $34,020

A Certified Medical Lab
Assistant Technician with 12 years experience. Over 8 years teaching experience
at the College Level. Currently employed in the Pathology department with London
Health Sciences Centre and a member of the Ontario Society of Medical
Technologists (OSMT).
